Situation:
The water table depth in the town is about 40 ft.The
shallow water is brackish and not fit for drinking
as well as for washing and other miscellaneous uses.
The existing water supply system is based on two
sources; L/J Canal and shallow Tube Wells along
canal. Presently population covered 80 % and per
capita supply is13 GPCD against required 40 GPCD.
Description of Sub Project:
The area is divided into two zones; Zone A will get
the supply through 2-Nrs overhead reservoirs while
for Zone-B water will be directly supplied to
consumers
The sub project comprises of tube wells, pumping
machinery, distribution system, overhead reservoirs,
and service connections. The proposed water supply
scheme is part of the master plan taking into
account implementation under different stages. The
present component will meet requirements up to 2030.
However, tube wells will supply water up to the year
2020 and would be augmented accordingly.

The completion of the project will result in the
following benefits:

affected with such diseases.
